Ten things to remeber when shopping with online retailers in India

Online retail in India is getting grip in market. So it is very important to for us to learn from others experiences and mistakes.

  1. Firstly don't believe in what these retailers claims in ads. There is always * that is there is always "conditions applies". 
  2. Secondly don't order anything that is of medical emergency. If ordered product doesn't arrive the patient which requires the product will even suffer more.
  3. There are multiple online retailers so always compare on all those sites for product you want to order online.
  4. Always go retailers who have have their own supply chain and not using third party courier. There usually is a communication gap between retailer and courier company. This is the place where delivery is delayed.
  5. Make a point to go through the terms and conditions and even privacy statement. This is the most boring job but when in trouble they (retailer) usually escape with its help. So make sure you understand those.
  6. One point is third party seller on these online retailer. Here where these retailer make most profit. Everything is managed by this third party seller and online retailer cheats us. Example the product shipped by third party seller don't charge for shipping but these online retailer usually charge for shipping. And this is cheating as per my understanding goes. And if something goes wrong these retailer put complete blame on these sellers. And we don't have any easy way to contact them.
  7. Reviews which we read before finalizing the product. But some sites gets fake reviews.
  8. Return policy is another headache. Make sure you understand them properly.
  9. Order cancellation is usually big problem when you have paid for it online. It usually takes more time then we think. There are few case where these retailer haven't returned users money. Again regret and headache.
  10. Replacing of item. When we receive damaged product, we want replacement. But there are so many ifs and buts. Make sure you open the package in presence of the delivery person. So we return the package then and there itself.
Out of these ten I have experienced first seven with AMAZON.IN

So I am saying it loudly DON'T TRUST AMAZON. Take some time and see amazon facebook pages and you will see how many people are suffering due amazon.in
